Best Bags from NOLA Bags Cornhole (2025 Edition)

NOLA bags are quite popular because they use unique materials and bold designs. Some of the bags reviewed in this article are ACL Comp Approved while others are ACL Pro Approved for 2025.

NOTE: ACL Comp and ACL Pro bags are made from the same materials and perform the same, but only Pro-stamped bags can be used in broadcast events. If you’re not playing on TV, Comp-stamped bags are perfectly fine and more budget-friendly!

  • Versatile Speed Combination (5.5/9)
  • Hybrid Carpet Material
  • Medium Floppiness
  • Medium Template

The slow side of the Snapper bag is rated at 5.5 and is made up of hybrid carpet material. It is a very unique and thick material, and you can easily control it to place blockers wherever you like.

The fast side is rated at 9 and in contrast with the slow side, it is a very thin, hole-friendly material. It’s also great for collecting and pushing bags.

When it comes to floppiness, Snapper is not an extremely floppy bag and maintains some structure. So it’s a good option for those who don’t like very floppy bags.

Template-wise, it is a medium template bag and contains a medium amount of fullness. Moreover, Snapper also has mixed fill in it containing both beads and tick flat fill.

When it comes to the kick factor, I would say Snapper has a pretty good kick to it. So if you don’t throw a flat bag, it is going to punish you.

If you think it positively, kick is not really a disadvantage. This bounce and the controllable slow side together can really help you roll or cut the bag any way you want.

I think the speed combination of 5.5/9 is primarily made for playing a controlled, dirty-styled game. The slow side is prime material for laying down blockers wherever you want and then collecting them with the fast side later on.

But this does not stop you from playing it the way you like. You can run bags with the fast side if that’s your game or keep throwing airmail shots.

Snapper is a wonderful bag for playing advanced shot-shaping techniques like cuts, rolls, or flop shots. The only thing you have to take care it to throw flat bags, that’s when Snapper really shines and you can play it with its full ability.

  • Great control for blockers
  • Thin, hole-friendly fast side
  • Balanced structure, not too floppy
  • Best for Shot Shaping
  • Kick punishes non-flat throws

Mudbug comes under the category of carpet bags which are extremely hole-friendly despite their carpet material. Moreover, they are ACL Pro Approved.

A vibrant cornhole bag design from NOLA Bags featuring a detailed illustration of a crawfish, nicknamed "Mudbug," against an orange background with splashes of water. The bag is labeled "ACL Pro 2025" and includes the "Throw-Dat NOLA Bags" logo.

  • Defensive Speed Combination (4/8)
  • Pure Carpet
  • Medium Floppiness
  • Medium Template

The slow side of Mudbug is rated at 4 and is made up of carpet material. It is not a hybrid carpet but a pure one. One characteristic of this carpet is that it starts to play fast during humid conditions.

Moreover, just like the Snapper bag, Mudbug also has a very thick slow side. The fast side is rated at 8, and just like Snapper, it’s also very thin on this side. So, the combination of thick and thin really helps grip the bag firmly.

Like Snapper bags, Mudbug has a medium template. Moreover, the bag has some flop, so it’s not very full.

This medium floppiness quality helps balance the bag’s slow side so it doesn’t bounce too much since the slow side is very thick and controllable. The fill is mixed and contains both the beads and the flat discs.

This bag will kick if you don’t throw it flat. This is because of the 4-speed slow side carpet. The floppiness and the mixed fill try to balance it out but this bag still has some bounce.

But as I mentioned earlier, this kick factor can be a double-edged sword. You can miss accuracy in some shots but the kick helps the bag to cut and roll easily.

In the first point I mentioned that Mudbug plays like a 4-8 in normal, dry conditions but as humidity increases, the slow side tends to get faster. So I think in playability, we should consider both conditions.

First, in dry conditions, this bag is perfect for playing dirty-styled games. Put blockers and cause chaos on the board.

Secondly, in humid conditions, this bag will be used to just run bags in the hole and outscore your opponents.

Mudbug has a ton of movement. It bounces, cuts, rolls, and flops easily over other bags. If you are an average player, you can really learn advanced shot shaping with these bags.

Only two things need to be considered: First, you need to learn how to throw flat. Secondly, you have to avoid rolling over your own bags when you’re trying to collect them.

Overall, Mudbug is a very versatile bag with a ton of control and movement.

  • Controlled slow side (speed 4) for blockers
  • Balanced floppiness reduces bounce
  • Adapts to both dry and humid play
  • Excellent for advanced shots like cuts and rolls
  • Punishing kicks on non-flat throws

Rex by NOLA Bags is also ACL Pro Approved for the 2025 season.

A regal, golden crown design for ACL Pro 2025 cornhole bags, featuring three stylized crowns and the text "ACL Pro 2025" and "REX" against a black background and includes the "Throw-Dat NOLA Bags" logo

  • Fast Speed Combination (6/8.5)
  • Herringbone Carpet
  • Medium Template
  • Medium Floppiness

The slow side of the Rex is rated 6 and made of herringbone carpet. It’s almost like a hybrid material.

On the other hand, the fast side is rated 8.5. Both of these materials are very hole-friendly, which is a rare quality for a herringbone carpet.

Rex is a standard medium template bag. Other factors like fill, fulness, and floppiness are similar to Snapper bags, which are all medium. The fill is mixed containing some beads and thick flat fill.

Rex has very little kick as compared to Snapper and Mudbug which I reviewed earlier. The reason for that is the fast speed of the carpet material.

Okay now since this is a fast/faster type of bag, I think Rex plays well in hole-to-hole styled games. In this style of game, you just run bags into the hole through sliding, airmail shots, cuts, etc, and outscore your opponents.

Nevertheless, you can still play dirty-styled games placing blockers occasionally but there are better bags for that like Mudbug and Snapper.

Moreover, if you live in a damp area where there is a lot of humidity, Rex is a great option since it remains weather-consistent.

Rex has a pretty good amount of movement because of the mixed fill in it. NOLA bags have balanced it quite nicely because they minimize the kick through a fast carpet material but still retain the bag’s movement.

This allows even an average player to roll, cut, or flop these bags easily.

  • Minimal kick, very forgiving
  • Great for hole-to-hole play
  • Weather consistent
  • Good shot-shaping (cuts, rolls, flops)
  • Less effective for dirty-style play and blockers

Jester by NOLA Bags is also ACL Pro Approved for the 2025 season.

A striking cornhole bag design from NOLA Bags, featuring a sinister, abstract jester face with blue and orange eyes against a gritty, textured background. The bag is marked "ACL Pro 2025" and includes the "Throw-Dat NOLA Bags" logo, blending chaos and style.

  • Aggressive Speed Combination (6/9)
  • Non Carpet Bag
  • Very Floppy
  • Very Forgiving and Hole-Friendly

Jester is a non-carpet bag with a 6 rating. Since it’s a non-carpet bag, it plays like a 7 at the start and then settles down to 6 after some grime builds up on the bag’s surface. This slow side is super hole-friendly.

The fast side is rated at 9 and is the same, thin material as the Snapper bags.

Just like other Nola bags I’ve reviewed, Jester also has a medium template and a medium amount of fill. But since this material is not a carpet material and it’s very loose materials on both sides, Jester is a very floppy bag.

Moreover, Jester contains mixed fill containing both beads and flat fill.

Since Jester has a lot of flop and speed, it lands very smoothly even if your throw isn’t perfect. This means Jester is forgiving and has a very little kick to it.

Jester is a fast/faster bag and has a lot of floppiness, one can say it is designed for running bags straight into the hole. Moreover, If you like fast bags or have slower, sticky boards then you will definitely like Jester.

One thing I would like to mention about Jester bags is that they are extremely hole-friendly bags on both sides. They are forgiving as well so they will just grab the hole so smoothly and effortlessly that you will love to throw these bags once in a while.

This is one of the lacking things in Jester bags that it’s not really a great bag for advanced shot-shaping abilities. This is just a trade-off of having a forgiving bag. But still, it’s very fun to play with.

  • Extremely hole-friendly on both sides
  • Forgiving with minimal kick
  • Great for slow or sticky boards
  • Not great for cuts or rolls

Rougarou X is another ACL Pro Approved bag from NOLA Bags.

A dark and eerie cornhole bag design from NOLA Bags, showcasing a red, hand-drawn tic-tac-toe pattern with chaotic scratches spelling "Rougarou X." The bag carries the "ACL Pro 2025" label and the "Throw-Dat NOLA Bags" logo, adding a mysterious, intense aesthetic.

  • Fast Speed Combination (6/8.5)
  • Hybrid Carpet
  • Medium Template
  • Forgiving and Hole-Friendly

The slow side of Rougauro X is rated at 5.5 and is made up of hybrid carpet material. This is the same slow side as the SEVA Nighthawk bag.

The fast side is rated at 9.5 speed. It’s the same fast side on the Cornhole Coastal Creature and Fear. You can also call it a Pro Sniper variant.

Rougauro X is a medium template bag and contains a medium amount of fill. It also has some flop but is not overly floppy like Jester bags because of the thicker, slow-side material of Rougauro X.

Moreover, Rougauro X has a mixed fill containing both beads and a thick flat fill.

Since Rougauro has mixed fill and contains flat fill as well, it lands very smoothly. It has a very minimal kick so if you don’t throw perfectly flat, it’s not going to punish you.

On the other hand, the bead fill has the effect of hole-friendliness since the beads tend to slide easily. So you’re getting the best of both worlds; forgiveness and hole-friendliness.

Rougauro X is one of the most versatile bags from Nola. What makes it versatile?

The speed combination, the mixed fill, and the hybrid carpet material. It almost feels like it’s a mixture of all the qualities of a good cornhole bag. You can definitely play dirty-styled games and place blockers, you can also run these bags straight into the hole.

This is another quality of Rougauro X that an average player can easily cut, roll, or flop these bags as they have enough movement because of the thick, slow side material.

  • Minimal kick, very forgiving
  • Most versatile NOLA Bag
  • Hole-friendly
  • Great shot-shaping (cuts, rolls, flops)
  • Not as floppy as some may prefer

Moccasin by NOLA Bags is also ACL Pro Approved for the 2025 season.

"Moccasin" design for Throw-Dat NOLA Bags' ACL Pro 2025 cornhole bags. Features a coiled rattlesnake, dagger, and roses illustration, showcasing the brand's detailed artwork.

  • Versatile Speed Combination (4.5/8.5)
  • Herringbone Carpet
  • Medium Template
  • Forgiving bag with low kick-factor

The slow side of Moccasin is a herringbone carpet material with a speed rating of 4.5. This is a very common carpet material and is the same as in most of the BG bags like BG Wizard, Wizard-L, and Sorcerer.

Moccasin slows down if they get dirty and so you need to clean these cornhole bags from time to time. The fast side is rated at 8.5. It’s also a very popular material used in SureFire and GameChanger bags.

Just similar to other Nola bags, Moccasin also has a medium template and a medium amount of fill. It has a fuller hand grip to it.

Moreover, it has a medium amount of floppiness so it’s not overly floppy. This floppiness is great for herringbone carpet materials as it gives them a lot of forgiveness. Otherwise, they can be stiff and punishing and hard to put in the hole.

Lastly, Moccasin has a mixed fill in it and the round beads really help the hole-friendliness of the herringbone material.

As already mentioned above, Moccasin does not have a punishing kick. It just has the right amount of kick to help you play advanced shots.

Just like other herringbone materials I have reviewed in my articles, Moccasin is also a very versatile bag. The speed combination is perfect for playing a dirty-styled game. The slow side is controllable and overall the bag is a little heavy which helps clear out the blockers easily.

Moccasin is one of the best bags from NOLA for playing advanced shots like cuts, rolls, and flops. The reason for this is the herringbone carpet and the bead fill which gives Moccasin a great movement for cutting and flopping.

Even a beginner or an average player can use this bag to learn advanced shots.

  • Minimal kick, good for advanced shots
  • Excellent shot shaping (cuts, rolls, flops)
  • Forgiving herringbone material with hole-friendly fill
  • Slows down when dirty and needs cleaning

A bold cornhole bag design from NOLA Bags featuring a fierce, glowing green alligator emerging from the water. The bag is labeled "ACL Comp 2025" and showcases the "Throw-Dat NOLA Bags" logo, giving it an intense, competitive look.

  • Balanced Speed Combination (5.5/9.5)
  • Hybrid Carpet
  • Medium Template
  • Beginner Friendly

The slow side of the Gator2.0 is a hybrid carpet material rated at 5.5 speed. It’s a very controllable, thick slow side, almost like a pure carpet material.

The fast side is rated at 9.5 speed. This fast side is the same material as the Cornhole Coastal Creature, Icon, and Fear, and it’s great for pushing and collecting.

Gator2.0 is a medium template bag with some floppiness. It’s not overly floppy because of the thick, slow-side material. Moreover, it also has the same mixed fill as other Nola bags reviewed above.

The kick factor of Gator2.0 is minimal but still has some movement necessary for shot shaping. But if you don’t throw flat and perfect throws, it’s not going to punish you like other Nola bags.

So one can say Gator2.0 is beginner-friendly as well.

Just like Rougauro X, Gator2.0 is also a very versatile bag. The speed combination and slow side material are perfect for placing those controlled, accurate blockers. And then you can use the smooth fast side to collect those blockers.

Since the template is medium and it’s not overly floppy, Gator2.0 doesn’t clog up near the hole and is very collectible. Moreover, you can also play a hole-to-hole game where you just focus on sliding bags into the hole and outscoring your opponents.

Gator2.0 has enough movement because of the bead fill and slow side material to help an average play advanced shots. So, in conclusion, Gator2.0 is very versatile, forgiving, and great for shot shaping.

  • Minimal kick, beginner-friendly
  • Great for advanced shots (cuts, rolls, flops)
  • Controllable slow side with easy collection
  • Slightly floppy, not for players who prefer fuller bags

Voodoo2.0 is an extremely weather-dependent bag. In dry, normal conditions, it plays like a dream but becomes a nightmare when the board is damp and sticky.

Voodoo 2.0" cornhole bag design by Throw-Dat NOLA Bags for ACL Comp 2025, featuring a red background, voodoo doll graphic, and crossed pins.

  • Fast Speed Combination (4/8)
  • Non-Carpet Bag
  • Medium Template
  • Very Floppy

The slow side of the Voodoo2.0 is a non-carpet side rated at 4. It’s a very defensive and controlled speed for playing dirty-styled games. Moreover, this is the same slow side as the Ultra Psycho-X, Ultra Widow X, and Reynolds Victory.

One disadvantage of this material is that it slows down a lot in humidity, and almost becomes unplayable. In dry conditions though, Voodoo2.0 is a really great bag.

The fast side is rated at 8 speed. Both sides are very thin and loose.

The template, fill, and fullness of Voodoo2.0 are very similar to the Jester Bag. It’s a medium template and contains a medium amount of mixed fill. And just like Jester, it has very loose, thin materials on both sides and is very floppy.

As I mentioned earlier, in dry conditions Voodoo2.0 is very forgiving and hole-fiendly because the material is not sticking to the board.

But it slows down in humidity, and it also becomes less hole-friendly and less forgiving because of the stickiness of the boards.

Voodoo2.0 plays best in fast, dry conditions and is perfect for running bags straight into the hole. In these conditions, it is very hole-friendly and just wants to grab the hole and fall right in.

Voodoo2.0 really shines against players who play dirty-styled games. The reason for that is this bag easily sneaks around the blockers to fall into the hole.

You don’t even need to play advanced shots like cut, flop, or roll, just throw Voodoo2.0 and they’ll find their way easily.

  • Excellent in dry conditions, hole-friendly
  • Forgiving and minimal kick in dry conditions
  • Highly weather-dependent
  • Slows down in humidity

Big Easy Nola Bags. Detailed illustration of a gold fleur-de-lis intertwined with red and white roses and green leaves, designed for ACL Comp 2025 cornhole bags by Throw-Dat NOLA Bags

  • Aggressive Speed Combination (8/9.5)
  • Fast/Faster bag
  • Non-Carpet bag
  • Extremely forgiving and Hole-Friendly

The slow side of Big Easy is the same as the fast side of the Mudbug Bags. It is rated at 8 speed.

The fast side is rated at 9.5 speed and is the same as the Rougauro X. Hence, one can say that Big Easy is a fast/faster non-carpet bag.

Big Easy is a medium template bag and has a medium amount of fill. Some might say that it’s more of a fuller bag than other Nola bags. Nevertheless, the material on both sides is so thin that this gives Big Easy enough floppiness.

Big Easy is very beginner-friendly and has no kick. This is primarily because of the floppiness of the bag. It’s a very forgiving Nola bag and if your throw isn’t perfectly flat, Big Easy is not going to punish you at all.

Moreover, this floppiness is very hole-friendly and all you have to do it just get this bag near the hole and it will grab it and fall right in.

The 8-9.5 speed combination is only suitable for playing hole-to-hole games. All you need to do is just aim for the hole each time and outscore your opponent.

You cannot play dirty-style game with it, and if your game is defensive and involves a lot of blocking strategy then you should buy Snapper Bags.

Since this is a very forgiving bag because of the materials and floppiness, Big Easy is not a great option for playing advanced shots like cuts or rolls. For that you have to buy Moccasin or Rougauro X

One thing I must mention is that Big Easy plays exceptionally well in humidity as well. It doesn’t stick much and maintains its speed well.

  • Beginner-friendly
  • Very forgiving with no kick
  • Plays well in humid conditions, maintains speed
  • Not suitable for defensive or dirty-styled games
  • Limited shot-shaping ability (cuts, rolls)

Design for "Jazz" cornhole bags by Throw Dat NOLA Bags for FEL Comp 2025. Features text "Jazz"

  • Versatile Speed Combination (4.5/8)
  • Unique Carpet
  • Smaller Template
  • Best for cuts and rolls

The slow side of Jazz is rated at 4.5 and is made of unique chenille-weave carpet. It is a very thick carpet material and is only exclusive to Nola Bags.

The fast side is rated at 8 and is the same as the Mudbug bag that I reviewed earlier in the article.

Jazz is a small template bag as compared to other Nola Bags. This is quite a change since Nola is known for medium to large template bags. Because of this small template, Jazz feels like a fuller bag even though it has a medium amount of fill.

This bag also doesn’t have a lot of floppiness and it’s mostly flat. The fill is mixed and similar to other bags I’ve reviewed above.

Jazz has a medium amount of kick. It’s not overly punishing but still has some movement to it. So you have to adjust your throws and try really to have a nice, flat throw.

Just like other 4-5 and 8-9 bags I have reviewed above, Jazz plays best in dirty-style games where you want to cause chaos on the board and make your opponent do most of the work.

Jazz is one of the best Nola bags to play shot shaping. Jazz cuts and flops effortlessly and even a beginner to average player will enjoy cutting this bag.

  • Great for dirty-style games
  • Excellent shot-shaping ability
  • Small template might feel too full for some players
  • Less forgiving compared to bags with more floppiness
